From PALLETABLE to
WAGNER & WAGNER
In 2012, Colleen Wagner - a kitchen designer by trade - decided to try her hand at making furniture from reclaimed timber. Based in Hoedspruit, there were so many citrus and mango estates, so old pallets were plentiful.
She hired an unemployed kitchen installer and together they started making crates, then tables, then chairs...
until there wasn't much they couldn't make!
Over the years they kept growing, but reclaimed timber was becoming harder to source. This led to buying the occasional new pieces of wood, to predominantly using only new wood.
Trends had also shifted and morphed, so we had to as well. Our furniture became bigger, better, bolder and on trend.
The addition of steel and wood pieces also opened up a whole new market.
In March 2022, Colleen designed and manufactured an outdoor lounge suite for a local Danish couple, Richi & Lene.
They loved their furniture, and as often happens in small towns, the professional relationship turned into friendship. During one coffee or lunch get together, the idea of becoming business partners was born.
Only then did Colleen discover that they all shared the same surname of Wagner (just pronounced differently)!
The universe had spoken, and in October 2022 WAGNER & WAGNER became our official new name.
Since then we have roadtripped, bought more machinery, rebranded, moved to a larger factory, increased
our staff compliment and opened a showroom.
We have designed and created new lines while still being there for clients who have "custom made" needs and wishes.
We look forward to growing sustainably with our staff, clients and community.
